Today, we introduce you to our Staff Car Gallery. We regularly feature cars as part of our Customer Car Gallery, and while we have many customers with modified and performance cars, we also have many staff members with modified and performance cars. So, we thought it would be a nice idea to also write about their cars. That’s how we have come up with the idea of our ‘Staff Car Gallery’. Remember, we’re enthusiasts too, we’re not just an insurance company!

On that note, we would like to introduce you to Aimee, who works in our sales department. She has always had a passion for cars and modifying them for as long as she can remember. She is particularly fond of Ford and actually owns a ‘Ford Fiesta Zetec S Celebration’. Her car is her pride and joy and as you read on, you’ll realise just how much she loves the car.

We asked her some questions regarding: modifying cars, her passion for cars and her own car…

When did you first discover your interest in cars?

I have always had a love for cars, maybe not as much as I do now but when I was younger I used to admire nice cars driving past. Back then it would be Aston Martins and things like that that you would see just whilst driving along. I had a couple of family members who had hot hatches which I enjoyed going in.

I started learning more about cars when I went to secondary school. Then, when I was slightly older, I started attending some car meets and going to shows. It all developed from there.

What was your first car?

The car I have now, the Ford Fiesta Zetec S Celebration (1.6 litre) is only my second car. The first car was rather awful so I think its best we leave it at that.

Aimee gave us an overview of what the car looks like and the modifications it’s had done to it. Here’s what she had to say…

“The car has had a full re-spray in Frozen White. I do get a lot of negative feedback about this due to the fact it’s meant to be a limited edition. It was done by the previous owner, however, and the main thing I loved about the car when I first saw it was the fact it was that perfect Frozen White. This is rare on a Zetec S and made me love it even more.”

 Has your car ever been featured in any magazines?

I’ve not had my car featured in any magazines but I have had it feature on several different Ford forums on Facebook and Instagram.

What car shows do you plan to attend this year?

I plan to attend all the car shows, the same as last year. I will definitely be at Ford Fair, Trax, Ford Fest, Herts Auto Show and many others. I will also be at all the other shows such as JapFest, Japshow and many others, but not in my car.

Are there any plans for further modifications to your car?

At the moment I am unsure what to do with the car. It may be going in for quite a bit of engine work. If I keep the car it will have work done that hasn’t really been seen before which could be rather exciting. But at the moment I am unsure if I will keep it or get something completely different.

Insurance for a Ford Fiesta Zetec S Celebration

The Ford Fiesta Zetec S Celebration is a limited edition model with a 1.6 litre engine. It is 3 door and has an insurance group rating of 16. This means it will be slightly more expensive to insure than your standard Ford Fiesta which has an insurance group of 8 (for the 1.25 litre model). This car would be suited for someone who has already held their licence for a year or two or more, not necessarily as a first car.

Aimee has insured her car with us, Safely Insured, through a ‘Modified and Performance’ scheme. This means that all of the car’s modifications are declared and covered on a ‘like for like’ basis.
