This modified Ford Focus RS Mk2 belongs to our customer, Mathew. Mathew has been interested in the car scene for as long as he can remember. He was surrounded by cars when he was younger and would often see modified cars in his local area. He’s now the ultimate car enthusiast and has been a part of a few car clubs, including ‘Birmingham Rsoc’.

Mathew has dreamed of owning many cars over the years, but he always had a love for the RS. He never thought he would own one, but now, he’s one of only three people that own the car in yellow. If that’s not what you call achieving your goals, we don’t know what is!

We were so intrigued by Mathew’s RS that we put some questions to him regarding his passion for modified cars, the car he owns now, and his plans for the future…

Q&A – Modified Car Transformation

How has your car transformed from when you first purchased it, to now?

“When I first bought it, the car was already wrapped but I have put extra stickers on it, such as: the big M, Revo and Airtec at the front of the car.

In terms of power, I have gained about 125bhp. This was achieved by adding bigger injectors, upgrading parts of the engine, and a Revo map.

A lot of engine work has also been carried out, performed by a company called Mattlewis Motorsport.

I’ve also had a custom made front grill with a flip-down number plate, so I can show it off better.”

Q&A – The Car Scene

Are you attending any car shows in 2017? And has your car been featured in any magazines?

“This year, I plan to attend a lot of car shows. These will include a lot of the Ford ones, such as: Ford Fest, The Fast Show, Pure Ford, Ford Fair, and Trax.

In terms of magazines, Yes, I actually had a few pictures featured in Performance Ford magazine. In addition, I also had some pictures featured in the RS Owners Club magazine.”

What advice do you have for someone wanting to modify a Ford Focus RS?

“Do a lot of research – find a good garage, make sure you get lots of information and then go for it (once you’re happy you’ve find the right garage).”

Q&A – Modified Cars and The Future…

Are there any plans to further enhance the car?

“I’m thinking about changing the wheels and adding a bigger spoiler. This may happen, we will see. Apart from that, there’s nothing else I can think of that I would change. It’s the way I want it, and I love it.”

If money was no option, what car would you own, and why?

“If money was no option I would just have one of everything (*laughs*). You can’t simply just pick one car. There are far too many nice ones out there to say for sure…”
