Project modify: Steve and his Ford Fiesta ST
Steve’s Ford Fiesta ST has a 1.6 litre engine and is currently running between 230-240BHP. It’s also in the process of modification work, so far it has: a Revo stage 2, Miltek turbo back de-resonated exhaust with CEL 300 Sports CAT, Mountune lowering springs, Mountune short shift, AirTec 1-2 intercooler, uprated boost hoses, Graham Goode induction, front splitter, roof spoiler extension, wind deflectors, charcoal / anthracite alloys (and a few more cosmetic upgrades).
From the age of 3, Steve’s dad used to buy him a little model car from the local market every week. From there – a true car enthusiast was born!
Q&A with Steve
What was the first car you ever owned?
“My first ever car was a Triumph Spitfire. It was a 1.3 litre, 1973 model.”
What car shows are on your list for 2017?
“As many as possible (I’ve attended 2 already). Future ones will include Ford Fair.”
What’s your dream car?
“My dream car would be a Nissan GTR, modified to stage 4 with cosmetic modifications.”
What’s your advice for someone modifying a car for the very first time?
“In addition to the cost to modify (which can become a never ending expensive wish list), think carefully how this is likely to impact on your insurance premium.”

Are you particular with the garages you use to perform the work on your car?
“I have just purchased the car so yet to decide. It’s unlikely to be a Ford main dealer so I will be looking for a specialist going forwards. May well be the garage I purchased the car from.”
What do your future plans for the car entail?
“I may look at Revo stage 3 but as things stand, the car is fast enough and the handling is superb. My previous car was a Subaru with a 2.5 litre forged engine, running big power. To be honest, my Fiesta puts a bigger smile on my face and I think it looks much better. Saying that, there may be a few plans for new upgrades etc. in the not so far future!”
