This year, we can expect to see the AC Cobra 378 reborn into modern day form, with a V8 engine. Back in 1983, when the arrival of the Cobra MKIV happened, a new era was a born. They were praised for their extremely high build quality, and they quite rightly became a legend.

Today, we can see this happen all over again, with the arrival of the new AC Cobra 378. Let’s discuss what we can expect to see on the 2017 model…

The 2017 AC Cobra 378

Keeping much of the design of the original Cobra MKIV, the 2017 model with be available with a choice of two engines. Both will have 6.2 litre, V8 engines, however, one will have a naturally aspirated engine (giving out around 440BHP), and one will have a supercharged engine (giving out around 550BHP). Whatever the option you decide on, both are sure to give you the power you desire.

Both versions of the new model will see a vast amount of upgraded software etc. but much of the hardware, such as the chassis, will remain as the original (just with the modern-day mechanics). You can expect to see an ECU, powered brakes, powered steering, optional air-conditioning functions, as well as an upgraded gearbox. In the modern day consumers want reliability, as well as comfort and style. This is what AC Cobra are trying to achieve with the 2017 AC Cobra 378.

Apparently, the first deliveries are to Britain which are due to commence this month (if they haven’t already done so). You can also expect to see sales in Hong Kong, China, and the US (although the US is waiting on new low-manufacturing laws to be finalised first, before selling).

In the UK, you can expect to pay between £85,000 – £90,000 for the car. Although, these prices will vary depending on what specification and extras etc. you opt for.
