Qui’s Lexus IS250 F Sport 2010, comes as standard with the power you require in a performance car. It has a 2.5 litre, v6 engine, producing 205BHP.

At present, the modifications include tinted rear windows, and a ‘baby on board’ sticker (“to keep the wife happy” – as Qui put it).

When Qui was in primary school, his dad bought a Ford XR2. This is what sparked the car enthusiast in Qui. From that point onwards, cars became a passion for him and that’s never changed.

Q&A with Qui

We spoke with the man himself about all things car related, and of course we asked him what it’s like to own a Lexus…

What was the first car you ever owned?

“The first car I ever owned was a 1998 Honda Civic, 1.4, in Supersonic Blue with DC2 seats. Watching the Drift Bible throughout the years only confirmed my interest in Japanese cars – I’ve only ever owned Japanese cars (so far).”

What garages do you use to perform the work on your Lexus?

“I always use R2 Automotive based in Tilbury, close to Lakeside / Essex. These guys are pros! You are paying for their knowledge and expertise – don’t scrimp, it’s not worth risking safety for the sake of a few pennies. It’s always best to go with a reputable garage you know and trust.”

Do you attend any car shows?

“I attend daily car shows my 1 year old son runs at home with his fleet of toy cars!”

Who’s your favourite F1 driver?

“Ayrton Senna – no doubt about it!”

What advice would you give to someone who wants to modify their car for the first time?

“Go for subtle visual mods, don’t go over the top. If the car is under powered, it’s probably best to start with a better engine / car or you’ll just be wasting money for a bit of noise and placebo effect. Think before you buy a car, and think before you perform any modification work on it.”

What’s your dream car?

“Lamborghini Veneno because only a supercar will do, and it needs to be ‘loud and proud’.”

What would your ultimate job with cars be?

“My dream job would be a supercar designer and test driver. To design your own fleet of supercars then race then down the Nürburgring is every petrol heads dream. Well, it’s my dream at least.”

Will you modify your car further in the future?

“Not at the moment, but that can quite easily change. In my opinion, the car is perfect as it is because it’s the top spec model with all the factory extras (except adaptive cruise control). The car excels itself when it comes to comfort. This, combined with a good balance of sportiness keeps me happy.”
