Christopher owns this incredibly well-kept Ford Escort Mk1.

Throughout his life, Christopher has been surrounded with all things car related. He was introduced to the car world via his dad, and the passion has continued to grow ever since.

He has an appreciation for cars, modifying them, and ensuring they are well kept. It’s obvious from the outset that he has a fondness for the car marque Ford. He now owns 5 different cars, 4 of which are made by Ford.

Christopher’s Story

As Christopher’s eclectic taste caught our eye, we thought it would be the prime time to ask him to tell us a little bit about how this passion formed, and about the cars that he owns now…

Here’s what Christopher had to say:

“As early as I can remember, I’ve always been interested in cars – it’s in my blood. I’ve been brought up around cars and have been going to shows and race meets with my dad ever since I can remember.

My first car was / is the one I own now – my Mk1 Ford Escort. It was a present from my dad. I’ve also owned / own a few other cars. These include: a Fiesta Zetec, Fiesta ST, Focus RS Mk1 and now a BMW 123d M Sport also. I’ve kept my first car for many reasons, but especially because I love the sound. Nothing beats the sound of an Escort. I chose an Escort because my dad and his friends race them. Again, I’ve been brought up with them – it’s who I am. If you were to ask me the question of what car would I buy if money was no option however, it would have to be a Ferrari F40. Because, why not?

When it comes to future work on my Ford Escort Mk1, I may end up adding more power. I fancy a N/A Cosworth engine on fuel management at some point – we will see!

Cars can be a lot of up-keep, especially if you’re doing work to them all the time. That’s why I have a garage at home, which I use to work on my cars. I’ll also use my dads work garage or my friends garage in order to save money (and because I know I can trust their work).

My advice for anyone that wants to modify a car for the first time would be to consider what they want to use the car for before they modify it. You can make a car very uncomfortable or impractical if you don’t consider the type of use the car will be getting.

If I could aspire to any F1 driver, it would have to be Lewis Hamilton. He’s a legend. So, if I could enter into a world whereby I could pick my dream job, it would be an F1 driver. Not only do you get to travel around the world and experience all the best race tracks out there, it also pays well (and no-one will grumble at that).”
