Iain’s heavily modified Mazda MX5 Mk1 is currently running at 304BHP. It’s got a 1.6 litre engine and a wide array of modifications added on to it.

As far as project cars go, this one certainly lives up to the title. Not only has it had so much work done on it already – there’s also plans for more work to follow (in the not so distant future)…

What was the first car you ever owned?

Shockingly, a 1.2 litre Corsa super max powered.

What advice would you give to someone who is modifying their car for the first time?

Don’t let loose with a 0% purchase credit card! On a serious note, build it for yourself and not everyone else – don’t be a sheep and copy others. Innovate and break the mould! Most importantly, don’t roller paint your car.

What would be your dream car?

Hmm, I would probably have to say an R34 GT-R, or a nicely modified 240z. Supercars don’t really interest me!

Will you modify your car further?

I plan on changing the interior with mk2 dash and up to date gauges. I also need a new set of semi-slicks. Potentially, I’ll be aiming to dabble in time attack again in 2018 / 2019.
