Every month, we’re going to start writing about the most popular car we put on cover the previous month. In May 2018, the most popular modified car we put on cover was, you guessed it, the Nissan Skyline.

The Nissan Skyline is an iconic Japanese car. It was originally produced by Prince Motor Company in 1957, however Nissan took over after the two companies merged together in 1967.

Since then, the Nissan Skyline has gone from strength to strength. Let’s talk a little bit about the history of the Skyline and find out why…

The Nissan Skyline

There are many, many generations of the Nissan Skyline. All of which have felt the love from car enthusiasts and like-minded individuals around the world.

The majority of the Skyline models are rear-wheel drive. With the introduction of the eighth generation of the Skyline, Nissan also introduced four-wheel drive models.

From 1972, the Skyline featured the famous round brake lights and tail lights. Something which has been photographed millions of times over the years. These really became an iconic feature of the car and are still very much admired to this day!

When someone mentions the Skyline, there are a few popular variants which spring to mind. These include: the R32, R33, and the R34. Included within these, are of course the: GT-R, Nismo, GTST, and the extremely rare z-tune versions.

Oh, and have you heard the sound of an RB engine in a Skyline? Well, if you haven’t then you are seriously missing out. If you have, you’ll understand what we mean when we say WOW. Literally, just WOW…
