This feature will focus on Martin and how he imported his modified Ford Falcon FG XR6 all the way from Australia to the UK.

We spoke with Martin and here’s what he had to say…

“How did I end up with this car? It all happened when I went on holiday to Australia, without the intention of buying another Falcon as I have the Falcon BA XR6 UTE already. Despite my best intentions, as soon as I looked through car sales, eBay, and Gumtree – I was hooked! Then, I found this one. I completely fell for it and the wife did too (which is a bonus).

So, we brought it from a company called Sideways Industries – Justin Steele, and what a car it is. We drove it all the time for the last 2 weeks of holiday. At the end of the holiday I left it at my mate’s house to look after for a while. Two days after we got back from Australia, I started the ball rolling to import it over. Is this an easy thing to do? Most certainly not.

In terms of modifications, it has King springs for suspension, an X force cat back, a custom air box, and 20″ alloys. Currently, the alloys have been refurbished and most importantly under-sealed. It also has a Barra 4.0 litre straight six engine (which is available in Australia). The colour is Dash green (which is standard in Australia). At present, I think there’s only half a dozen in the UK. It’s also been remapped and been on the dyno, which was done out in Australia too.

The whole process of importing the car from Australia to the UK took from August of last year to February of this year. As soon as it arrived, I drove it down from Castle Donnington – it was awesome and well worth the wait!”
