2017 is set to be a great year for performance cars and high performance cars. With many car marques getting involved, such as: Audi, Mercedes, Renault, Lexus, and Aston Martin – its set to be a great year ahead.

The Audi SQ2

Expected on sale: 2017

The most affordable out of this list of performance cars, the Audi SQ2 will not only look sleek and capable, but it will also look robust and ready to take on a challenge. With the car being an SUV, there’s already rumours that a high-performance version will be made. Will there be a 6-speed manual gearbox? Or maybe an S-tronic gearbox? The Audi A6 Allroad

Estimated starting price: £47,000

Expected on sale: 2017

So, as seen at the ‘Shanghai Motor Show’, this model is expected to have carry through the ‘off-road’ look, but this time with a much sleeker body. The driving system is said to be a petrol-electric hybrid, and apparently you can expect a whopping 724BHP – this is yet to be confirmed!

The Renault / Alpine Sports Car

Estimated starting price: £50,000

Expected on sale: Middle of 2017

After 20 years off the scene, Alpine is back, courtesy of parent company – Renault.

The concept was shown back in March at the ‘Geneva Motor Show’. Upon conversations following on from the initial unveiling, it’s rumoured that you can expect to experience 250BHP, coupled with an extremely light weight of 1,100kg, enables a 0-62mph of just 4.5 seconds.

The Lexus LC

Estimated starting price: £90,000

Expected on sale: Spring of 2017

This model will be of ‘high-performance’ and there’s expected to be not only one, but two versions of the new model. The versions will be the LC 500 and the LC 500h (hybrid). The LC 500 is said to feature a 5.0 litre V8 engine, and the LC 500h is supposedly featuring a 3.5 litre V6 engine. Which one will you choose? There’s only a few more months before you find out…

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Estimated starting price: £90,000

Expected on sale: Autumn of 2017

This model is expected to be slightly smaller than predecessors such as the DB11. The power however, will not be ‘smaller’ and the car will be of ‘high-performance’. This is all thanks to Mercedes, as the model will feature the 4.0 litre twin-turbo v8 engine that is currently in the Mercedes AMG GT model. Will there be a manual gearbox? The answer is yes. Counting down the months until this comes on sale? Yes, we are too!

The Mercedes AMG GT Roadster

Estimated starting price: £100,000

Expected on sale: 2017

Mercedes are famous for the alluring ‘roar’ that comes from their engines, and this new model will be no different. There will in fact be two versions offered: the standard GT Roadster (with 476BHP) and the GT C Roadster (with 557BHP). Performance is expected to be maximised with this new model and we cannot wait!
