Matt’s Renaultsport Megane 225 LUX isn’t just a striking blue colour, it’s heavily modified too. It’s the perfect blend of power vs. paintwork and we love it!

Under the bonnet is a 2.0 litre engine, which is currently giving out around 270BHP / 300ft/lb of torque.

There’s a list of modifications that have been used / installed to get the car to the standard you see it at today. Let’s take a look at them to find out just how much work has gone into this beauty of a car…

Matt’s Story

“Ever since I was young, I’ve always had an interest in cars. My dad owns a garage, so I was brought up around them 24/7.

The first car I ever owned was a ‘Renault 4’. I’ll admit, I was reluctant to own it, but I’m glad I did as I now have a love for all things Renault.

Since owning my Renaultsport Megane 225 LUX, I only use a select few garages to work on it. These include: Midlands Renault specialist, Diamond motors Renault Specialist, and JC Garages. In my opinion, it’s always best to use garages you know and trust – you want to pick a reputable garage. Whilst on this subject, it’s important to highlight doing your research when it comes to your modifications. Also, if you want to modify your car, I think you should talk to people that have already done it. You should weight up both the pros, and the cons, before you decide on anything, or spend a penny.

Modified - Renaultsport Megane I do have some plans (that will be commencing soon), to modify the Renaultsport Megane 225 LUX further. I want these modifications to include: A Hybrid turbo, 630cc injectors, and a remap to suite. Eventually I’ll want to forge the engine as well – I know I will.

At the moment, my car hasn’t been featured in any magazines, or on any forums online, but, have it has been featured socially. It’s been featured on MeganeSport.NET and the MeganeSport owners club.

Lastly, everyone has a dream car. Mine would have to be the GTR. Why? you ask… because I did a project on one back at college many moons ago when they were prototype – I have always wanted one since then.”

Insurance for a Renaultsport Megane 225 LUX

Modified - Renaultsport Megane

Due to this Megane being a Renaultsport, it automatically means that it comes with more power than the standard Renault Megane. It’s part of their sportier range, and as such, offers more power, which increases its value also.

When modifying a car that’s already of higher performance, you’re going to think you’ll be up against it when it comes to finding insurance. Right? Maybe, maybe not! Here at Safely Insured we provide both Performance Car Insurance and Modified Car Insurance. Matt’s Renaultsport Megane 225 LUX is insured under our Modified Car Insurance scheme due to its power / number of modifications.
