Ford is an extremely popular marque within the UK car enthusiast community. As such, we’ve got in contact with a few of our customers who own modified Ford’s. We wanted to know what they love about the brand and the work they’ve carried out on their car.

In this article, we’ve spoken with Chris. Chris owns a Ford Focus ST 225 mk2.5 which he has modified over the years. Let’s find out more about Chris and the car in question…

We spoke with Chris. Here’s what he had to say:

“I have owned my modified Focus ST since October in 2012 – I wanted one ever since I saw Jeremy Clarkson drive one on Top Gear. I really enjoyed modifying this car in particular because there is so much variety you can choose from to make it stand out from the others. You can do this with colour, sound, speed, etc. If you want to modify a car for the very first time however, I would say don’t make the mistake of going for enhanced power first. Handling modifications are key and far more important than power. Also, get yourself down to Shane at ‘Hyper-Tune’ for top-class work and re-mapping.

In addition to modifying my car, I love taking it to shows throughout the year. My favourite car shows include Goodwood FOS – due to the pure and exotic cars that attend. Japfest – because who doesn’t love jap cars? Ford IOQ Takeover – it’s just a mega weekend with so much to do. People are super friendly too. Finally, I also like going to Trax at Donington – I love the variety of cars on show which all look so different from eachother.”

Money being no object, what car would you buy and why?

“Money being no object, I would buy either a Ford RS200 or a McLaren F1. I sat in a McLaren at a car show when I was young and have quite literally never forgotten it.”

Favourite track to take your car to, and why?

“My favourite race track I have been on is Donington. Saying that, I would love to drive the Ring in Germany due to the sheer size of the track and it’s varying corners and challenges.”
